Who Are We?

Mid South Transport, Inc. has a vast administrative background that focuses on transportation, warehousing, and logistical services. It was established in 1982 and has been operating in Memphis, TN for 34 years. The company is indexed as a SmartWay Transport Partner and is a U.S. Customs class 3 bonded carrier. Our drivers are averaging 2,500 miles per week. We have 2016-2019 Cascadia Freightliners. All of our trucks are equipped with Qualcomm, E-logs, transponders for tolls and scales, Navi-go, APU power units, in-cab scanners, and more!

Transportation

Operating in Memphis, TN has great benefits for the company and drivers. As mentioned in our new video above, the main service we provide is transportation. Memphis is a great center for logistics and transportation because the city is located in the middle of the United States. Mid South Transport takes advantage of our key location by putting the company’s stong fleet of over 100 power units to work throughout the Mid-South, Southeast, Southwest, Northeast, Mid-West, and California.

In the video our VP, Barry Dodd states that Memphis has five class 1 railroads and is the location of FedEx’s world headquarters. This strong logistics center gives the opportunity for Mid South Transport to collaborate with other modes of transportation to deliver railroad container freight and air freight to places around the United States.

Customer Care

Along with transportation, we have unique services compared to other trucking businesses. Mid South Transport has a class 3, Customs bonded warehouse. We can both move your freight and safely control the inventory while it is being stored.

“We don’t want to be just point A to B trucking for our customers,” said Ronald Lancaster, President of MST. “We want to be able to offer them certain other things like a warehouse.”

This allows the customers to either bring in, quarantine, relabel, or repackage their cargo. The warehouse is equipped with cameras, alarms, and an 8ft tall 10,000-volt fence to secure all cargo and deliveries.

When Mid South Transport first started, the initial goal was to “have a good, small company that was focused first on the employees.” Lancaster states in the video that we believe the employees are the heart and soul of the company.
